So you finally feel confident in how to cook the perfect medium-rare steak, but how is the flavor? Haven’t perfected the seasoning yet? We hate an under-seasoned steak, and want better for all you steak lovers out there.

Under seasoning aside, let’s talk over seasoning. The seasoning is meant to compliment the flavor of your steak, and not over power it. There are a lot of spice options for steak, but we’ve blended together just the right amount of salt, peppers, garlic, onion, and paprika for the perfect combination of flavor. You’re going to love this recipe!

  • Using the right amount of steak seasoning:

The amount of seasoning to use will depend largely on how thick your steak is. Thinner cuts can be easily overpowered by too much seasoning, while thicker cuts allow you to be a bit more heavy handed.

  • White vs. Black Pepper:

White pepper and black pepper are both the fruit of the pepper plant. They are processed differently which causes the change in color, and end up tasting slightly different. White pepper is hotter than black pepper, but black pepper has a more complex flavor. White pepper tends to have more floral and earthy notes to it.

  • Cooking the perfectly seasoned steak:

You can use this seasoning whenever you are cooking steak, no matter what recipe you follow. Our favorite way to use this seasoning is with our How to Cook Steak Perfectly Every Single Time recipe. You sear the steak in a skillet on the stovetop and finish it in the oven and it is to die for!
